Partstrader is a user friendly, web-based, open platform collision part sourcing, quoting and ordering system.
To give repairers a unique real-time competitive marketplace, allowing them to make the best parts procurement decisions after considering part quality, delivery time, supplier reputation, supplier terms and part prices. It is currently being used by selected repair facilities (along with suppliers they have recommended) in four pilot cities. The pilot program enables us to get feedback and make certain that using PartsTrader offers the best possible experience when we release it for use across the United States.
Our focus in developing PartsTrader is to improve the quality of the collision parts sourcing and purchasing experience for all industry stakeholders, ultimately raising the bar for service and professionalism across the entire collision industry. Ultimately, repairers will be able to use PartsTrader for all parts purchasing needs, regardless of which insurance company they are working with or if a repair is non-insurance work.
PartsTrader is the only auto parts market that brings together OEM, aftermarket, remanufactured, specialist, and recycled part suppliers. You can request pricing and compare options from all of these suppliers in just a few minutes.
We invite you to recommend parts suppliers you know and trust to become participants of the PartsTrader marketplace. Collision parts suppliers providing pricing within PartsTrader must be nominated by repairers like you before we invite them to participate in this market. We do this so you can have peace of mind that requests for quotes are going out to a network of trusted parts suppliers, and that you can continue to work with suppliers who have served you well. In addition, you may also form new relationships as you find competitive pricing from quality collision parts suppliers.
The actual part sale transaction still occurs directly between you and the parts supplier. If it’s a simple order, and you need it fast, you can place a “direct order” with a trusted supplier without waiting for quotes. Our role is to make it easier for you to obtain competitive pricing and availability information for the parts you need, and to streamline the sourcing and purchasing process.
If you use one of the three leading estimatics software vendors, you can import the relevant part and vehicle information into PartsTrader automatically. We are working to become fully integrated with leading estimatics software providers so you have no annoying double-entry of data. Simply import your parts list, and in just three clicks you can request multiple competitive quotes from the PartsTrader network of OEM, aftermarket, remanufactured and recycled collision parts suppliers.
When you are ready to order, PartsTrader streamlines that process as well. In just four clicks, you can call up your quotes, review prices, select a parts supplier and order your part. It's that quick and easy.
Within the PartsTrader application, you can view full details, and even images, of a part before you order it--reducing errors and time wasted returning unsuitable or incorrect parts. All records for your transaction are centralized online and the PartsTrader system automatically sends an updated parts list back to your estimatics system.
In April 2013, new functionality will be in place so you can rate your parts supplier on their Quoting Accuracy, Delivery Tine & Accuracy, Part Quality, Communications, and Business Practices. Experience shows that quality ratings and two-way feedback mechanisms increase accuracy and improve service, and that a truly open quoting process increases transparency and creates a fair open market.
We understand that, no matter how great a new system is, it takes time and effort to learn how to use it. You can rely on PartsTrader to deliver on our promises and to make parts ordering easier and more accurate. Our friendly staff is committed to helping you with registration, training, and walking you through your first orders, until you are comfortable. They will help you as much or as little as you need.
A number of users in the pilot program have confirmed that once they got used to the new process, they actually spend LESS time on sourcing and purchasing. You can free up time that you used to spend on the phone looking for pricing and availability, and use that time more productively—helping your customers.
We know that you are entrusting us with important data, and we promise you that we will take the strongest precautions to keep your data secure. PartsTrader has fully implemented the CIECA BMS standard for all integration. We will not transmit EMS files over the internet in any form. Additionally, PartsTrader does not provide - and will not provide - your buy prices to insurance companies. The only exception is recycled parts, where this is required on the estimate so that repairers can get paid.
