PartsTrader can help you grow your business

Would you like to increase collision parts sales without increasing your sales team's workload? PartsTrader can help you find new business opportunities in several ways:

  • New customers will find you when they submit quote requests to the trusted supplier network within PartsTrader.
  • Quote requests you receive through PartsTrader will allow you to see the full parts list for a repair, all the time.
    • Even your most loyal customers may not be currently coming to you for every part, and may not even know you can supply some of those parts.
    • You may see parts requested that you don’t currently inventory, but find an opportunity to add to your offering.

Your existing staff can be more productive. With a streamlined quoting/procurement process, your staff can spend their time on building those critical relationships, and even increase the number of quotes they can manage in a day.

What makes PartsTrader special?

Our focus in developing PartsTrader is to improve the quality of the collision parts sourcing and purchasing experience for all industry stakeholders, ultimately raising the bar for service and professionalism across the entire collision industry. Through PartsTrader, repairers have access to the most comprehensive parts market that represents all types of parts suppliers. It creates a level playing field where all collision parts suppliers can compete freely on service, quality and price.

Repairers have complete freedom to choose the best combination of price, delivery time, service, and part quality every time. We arm repairers with all of this information in an easy-to-review format that makes this decision process easier, faster and more accurate. Ultimately, the decision is up to the repairer, just as it has always been.

How does it work?

Collision repairers simply enter the parts list for their repair job and PartsTrader enables them to distribute that list to the entire network of PartsTrader suppliers, or to their preferred suppliers—the decision is entirely the repairer's discretion. You will be able to provide a quote for every part for every repair submitted to you via the PartsTrader network. Once they review the quotes, they can select and order from a supplier in a few seconds, and the order will come right back to you.

PartsTrader streamlines the entire parts ordering process, increasing efficiency and accuracy. Repairers can view full details, and even images, of a part before ordering-- reducing errors and saving you from losing valuable time refunding and replacing unsuitable parts.

All records for every transaction are centralized online. And, soon PartsTrader will include the ability to rate your customer on their professionalism, the accuracy of the information they supplied , whether they negotiated in good faith, returns, and speed of payment. Customer ratings can be very useful to suppliers, as you can set payment terms for new clients based on their existing supplier ratings. Don’t worry—the rating system works both ways, so if you do a great job for your customer they will rate you highly, which can help you win more new business.

Experience shows that quality ratings and two-way feedback mechanisms increase accuracy and improve business relationships, and that a truly open quoting process increases transparency and creates a fair open market. It's a new and improved parts market model where everyone wins.

It's free to join, so there's no risk to you

While currently in pilot by one U.S. insurance carrier and its repairer network, PartsTrader's goal is to provide services to the industry nationwide. In order to participate in PartsTrader, suppliers must be nominated by their repairer customers.

Throughout 2013 PartsTrader is offering participating suppliers a free trial. Once PartsTrader's value has been proven, we will eventually introduce subscription and/or transaction fees to suppliers. Before we introduce any fees, we will provide at least 60 days' notice to existing subscribers. There is no lock in; you can leave PartsTrader at any time. Sign up today, and start growing your collision parts business.

The commercial sales transaction is still directly between you and the collision repairer. PartsTrader's role is simply to make it easier for you to increase your sales opportunities, submit quotes for repair jobs and centralize the purchasing process.
