New Management Reporting Tools for Repairers Now Available

Several new management reports are now available to individuals assigned the User Manager role.  Accessing these reports is easy and familiar.  After you've logged into the PartsTrader application, simply click on the Reports link.  Then, select Management from the Report Category drop-down. 

User Managers now have access to reporting tools that provide insight into your customer's behaviors as well as your team's, including the familiar monthly activity reports.  PartsTrader is committed to providing you with tools to help you manage your business more effectively.

PartsTrader Helps Gold Medal Winners Attend SkillsUSA Competition


Two national gold medalists at the recent SkillsUSA competition were recipients of the Troy Holm Memorial Fund.  PartsTrader established the fund to assist students in attending the national event through travel grants and other forms of assistance.  In response to a record number of fund applicants this year, PartsTrader doubled its donation for 2015 to ensure that the "best of the best" from around the country were able to participate at the national contest.
  
This year's recipients  included National Automotive Refinishing Technology Gold Medalist Amanda Baker and National Collision Repair Gold Medalist Luke Sabey as well as 16 additional state medalists.  Click for the complete list of recipients.

The Troy Holm Memorial Fund is facilitated by the Collision Repair Education Fund and was created in memory of collision industry member and PartsTrader employee Troy Holm who passed away in March 2013.

For Recyclers - Hotlines Automatch Update

Automotive recyclers who use PartsTrader may now utilize Hotlines AutoMatch™ to pull their inventory from their Inventory Management System (IMS) into PartsTrader quoting screens.  The use of Hotlines Automatch improves a recycler's quoting efficiency by retrieving their own inventory and the inventory of their trading partners directly into the PartsTrader quoting screens.  Real-time, current inventory status is presented with all the information recyclers need.

Repairers Tip of the Month- Are Your Orders in Limbo?

Your profile settings in PartsTrader may be causing your suppliers to HOLD orders or ship DUPLICATE orders. The Review Changes preferences in PartsTrader are designed to help you monitor changes that affect your costs and your repair scheduling.
How to know if your settings should be adjusted:

  • Do you see a large number of old orders on the Awaiting Response tab?
  • Do you wonder why your orders keep appearing on that tab?
  • Are your suppliers shipping orders twice, or calling you to ask if they can ship your parts?
  • Do you see red flags next to orders on the Awaiting Response tab, and a red notation reading Supplier Changes on the tab itself?

If you answered “Yes” to these questions, it’s likely that your company preferences are set to request that suppliers not ship an order if they have changed details about the price, part type or delivery date. It’s important to review and resubmit these orders if you find the changes acceptable promptly…certainly within 24 hours.

 

You can review and adjust these preferences by clicking Profile link at the top of your PartsTrader screen and then clicking Company Settings in the left-hand menu.

Suppliers Tip of the Month - Remember, Only Ship On Orders, Not Quotes

A number of repair shops across the country have asked us to remind you that you should not be shipping parts when you receive a Quote Request. You should only ship parts that are included in the Incoming Orders tab in PartsTrader. Once you’ve reviewed an order and verified that you can ship the parts as described—part number, type, price and delivery time—then you can prepare and ship the parts.

Remember that some repair shops may be placing a Direct Order, which means they did not first request a quote, and the prices and part types indicated in their order will have come directly from their estimating system. All incoming orders should be reviewed carefully to avoid misunderstandings later.

Note: If you make changes to part type, price or delivery time, the repair shop may want to approve those changes before you ship. Please read the message that appears on your PartsTrader screen after you click Confirm, to determine if the repairer has requested to review and approve any changes, or if it is okay to go ahead and ship the items with changes.
