Are you having  a Déjà vu moment?

Have you ever noticed a quote request that you responded to has reappeared on your dashboard?

More often than not, this occurs when additional information has become available on a request; you'll see this indicated by the colored box under the Priority column. In this case, you can review the quote to see if the additional information indicates a need to modify your quote. At that point, you may select "Hide from Company" if you have already reviewed the quote.  What you don't want to do is "cancel and remove from worklist," since this action will delete any quotes that you have supplied for the job.

There may be times where a quote will reappear on your dashboard, and the colored box under the Priority column says "Quoted." In this scenario, the body shop most likely has resubmitted their request; most likely because they were not happy with the quotes they received. It is a good practice to double-check these resubmitted requests and evaluate whether you would like to revise or let the original quote stand as submitted.

PartsTrader in the News...

Del Grande Dealer Group in Northern California was featured in an article in the September 2014 issue of Autobody News

In that story, DGDG's Parts Director, Larry Sherman is quoted as saying, "PartsTrader allows us to reach out to new customers and establish relationships with them. Body shops obviously work with a lot of other insurers other than State Farm, so we can capture that business by staying in the game with PartsTrader."

What is a Top Performer?

To the left of this story is our monthly posting of Top Suppliers and Top Repair Shops in PartsTrader.
Companies that appear on this list have achieved high ratings from the companies with whom they've done business in PartsTrader. These ratings represent outstanding communication, business practices, and more.
Each month PartsTrader emails hundreds of certificates to shops and suppliers that have earned this "Five Star" distinction. Plans are underway to award special recognition at the end of 2014 to companies that have been on the Top Performers list for at least six and as many as twelve months during the course of the year.
Good going!  45 repairers, 29 alternate suppliers, and 89 OEM dealers have made the top performer list every month in 2014.

Job Summary  Update

With its introduction in July, the Insurer View within the
Job Summary in PartsTrader allows repairers to view the details and milestones for a job in a manner that simulates the details available in an insurance company review. The data displayed within this view have been expanded to include additional job milestones.

Using PartsTrader makes documentation of the available parts, quality of those parts, and other details much simpler and consistent for every job and every employee using the system.

If you haven't taken a look at the Insurer View, you may do so from any open job.* Look to the far right-hand column, and choose More > View Job. Once in the Job Summary, look to the grey bar tabs and click Insurer View.

Coming later this month, the Job Summary will include an enhanced Repairer View as well, which will show the same milestone information, but with the repairer buy prices instead of insurer prices.
Learn more: register for our webinar on September 24, during which we will demonstrate how to access Job Summary and share some ideas of how repair shops are using this view in creative ways.

* The most detail will be viewable when a job is complete or near the end of the parts procurement process, so try this from a job that is located on the Order Confirmed tab.

Supplier Tip

Show Parts Buyers What You've Got

Suppliers who support different part types can maximize their sales opportunity by giving customers options:

  1. In the Quote screen, click on the More option from the right-hand column on the line of the desired part.
  2. Select Add Multiple Options from the drop-down menu to add another line. This can be repeated to add several options.
  3. Complete each new line with details for each part type.

Representing inventory options to repair shops will give you the competitive advantage to receive the order and allow the repairer to make the best business decision when they understand what parts are available.
